An outbreak of the dog flu has been reported in Colorado and is expected to continue spreading throughout the state and possibly beyond. The Colorado Veterinary Medical Association has issued a warning to veterinarians that at least 16 dog flu cases have been confirmed in the state. At least 53 blood samples from Colorado dogs have been tested by Cornell University in New York, with a third of them having tested positive.
March 24, 2006 Update: Reports of canine influenza spreading west continue to appear, with one confirmed dog flu case in the San Franciso, California, area as well as a reported outbreak in North Texas.
